Police managing this weekend’s huge FA Cup clash between Tamworth FC and Tottenham Hotspur have urged fans to enjoy the game “safely”. It will be the first-ever Premier League team to visit The Lambs in the town’s history.
Tamworth and Tottenham will battle it out in the third round of the cup on Sunday, January 12. West Midlands Police said fans should enjoy themselves “responsibly” – and warned to allow extra time to travel in and around the area.
PC Rich Lymer of West Midlands Police, who will be at the game, said: “This weekend is going to be a special occasion for so many people living locally. We’re excited to be in and amongst it all and engaging with people having a good time.

“Officers will be visible around Tamworth and the Lamb Ground when they take on one of the Premier League elites. We’re here to respond to any concerns people may have.
“Please allow for extra time travelling in and around the area this weekend.”
The Lambs are currently placed 16th in the National League but have had a triumphant journey so far, claiming victories over EFL teams Huddersfield and Burton.
