Five people have been charged in connection with the tragic death of pop star Liam Payne.
Among them is his close friend, Roger Nores, alongside several staff members from the CasaSur Palermo hotel. Argentinian news outlet Infobae reports that two of the accused are currently being held in custody.
Roger, who claims he left the hotel approximately an hour before the One Direction musician’s fatal fall, faces charges of negligent homicide and is reportedly under a country-exit ban.
Liam Payne passed away at the age of 31 on October 16, after a harrowing plunge from the third-floor balcony of a Buenos Aires hotel. Findings from a post-mortem examination attributed his demise to multiple injuries and both “internal and external haemorrhage”.
Braian Nahuel Paiz, 24, and Ezequiel David Pereyra, 21, stand accused of supplying drugs to Liam, an offence with a severe penalty of up to 15 years imprisonment, reports the Mirror.

Earlier this month, reports emerged that Nores declined to respond to queries from a judge investigating the singer’s death. Nores has firmly rejected allegations that he deserted his friend, who allegedly displayed erratic behaviour in the hotel’s lobby prior to the fatal incident.
He also paid tribute to Liam, referring to him as his ‘very dear friend.’ Liam’s partner Kate Cassidy shared her heartache and sorrow during her first Christmas without him.
On Christmas Eve, Cassidy posted an Instagram Story, encouraging people to “be gentle” with others during the festive season and extending her love to those “carrying grief”. Her message said: “As the holidays are here, I realise it is a time for happiness and joy, but it is also a time of sadness and grief for so many.”

The message read: “Be gentle with those around you this time of year, as the holidays can feel different for everyone.”
It continued: “Sending all my love to those carrying grief this holiday. I hope the seasons bring you comfort and peace. Wishing everyone a love-filled and healthy holiday season this year.”
Last month, Cassidy attended Payne’s private funeral in Buckinghamshire, where she was joined by his relatives and former One Direction members.
