Five major Royal Family moments to look out for in 2025

For the Royal Family, 2024 has been an eventful year. From cancer battles to official tours, there has been lots for the family to deal with over the past months.

There was a somewhat scaled-back approach in 2024 as both King Charles and Kate Middleton focussed on their health. But as we enter a new year, preparations for their 2025 engagements will already be taking place.

Details of trips are often kept under wraps until closer to the time but there are some events we know about. Here we take a look at some of the major events expected for the year ahead.

There’s set to be a new royal baby in 2025, with Princess Beatrice expected to give birth in spring. The late Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter is pregnant with her second child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Their baby will be a sibling to the couple’s three-year-old daughter Sienna, as well as Mr Mapelli Mozzi’s son and Beatrice’s stepson Wolfie, eight. The couple announced their happy news in October, releasing two new pictures to mark the announcement.

One captured blonde-haired Sienna from behind as she walked along a country lane, holding hands in the middle of her father and big brother Wolfie. The youngster, with a red bow in her hair, was kitted out in bright yellow wellies and an all-in-one blue waterproof puddlesuit decorated with cloud and bird motifs.

In another picture, an overjoyed Beatrice, 36, could be seen sporting a black puffer jacket. She smiled at the camera while being embraced by Mr Mapelli Mozzi, 40, as he gazed at his wife.

Meghan’s new ventures

The former member of the Royal Family, who is married to Prince Harry, has been urged to ‘seek help’ as a new business venture in the United States hits a major stumbling block

She may have quit royal life but 2025 could be an exciting year for Meghan Markle. One of her latest ventures includes her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.

It had its ‘soft launch’ in 2024, with an Instagram account and website set up. But little information has been shared about the project, with the website’s holding page simply asking visitors to ‘join waitlist’.

Although no official date has been announced, it is anticipated that American Riviera Orchard will launch in 2025. Alongside this, it is understood Meghan is preparing to launch a new Netflix cooking show.

Princess Anne’s milestone birthday

The Princess Royal will be marking a special birthday in 2025. She is set to celebrate her 75th birthday on August 1950.

Although it is not yet known how the royal will spend her special day, she is likely to be showered with love and affection from her family. Anne is mum to Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips.

The grandmother-of-five is married to Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, with the couple living at Gatcombe Park, in Gloucestershire.

Prince Harry court case

Prince Harry has been embroiled in legal action with the Home Office for many years. Harry previously received publicly funded security protection in the UK before stepping back as a working royal in 2020.

The Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) decided to remove his right to automatic police protection when he permanently relocated to the US. But Harry wants security restored when he and his family are in the UK.

He sought a judicial review over RAVEC’s move but a High Court judge rejected his bid. The Court of Appeal then granted him leave to challenge the High Court judgment in May.

It is understood a hearing will take place in 2025.

Trooping the Colour

A staple in the royal calendar, Trooping the Colour is a grand event planned in London every June. It celebrates the monarch’s official birthday and sees members of the Royal Family take part in a parade, starting at Buckingham Palace, down The Mall and to Horse Guards Parade.

After a display at Horse Guards Parade, the royals head back to the palace and make their iconic balcony appearance. There is usually a fly-past by the Royal Air Force as well.

Crowds line the streets from the early hours of the morning to catch a glimpse of the Royal Family during the most popular event known as the King’s Birthday Parade.
