The Anchor

The Anchor in Bexley also won the Good Food Award’s Blue Ribbon for its exceptional fish and chips and consistently high ratings from customers.

Located on Steynton Avenue, the Anchor has enjoyed a stellar year, earning accolades from the England Business Awards and a place among the UK’s top five Best Newcomer Fish and Chip Shops.

Known for its creative offerings, the shop even introduced a 24k golden cod, taking inspiration from celebrity chef Salt Bae.

This unique twist, alongside traditional fare, has helped make the Anchor one of Bexley’s most talked-about fish and chip shops.

A statement on its website reads: “The Anchor is a fantastic traditional pub located right in the heart of Bexley, a leafy suburb of London.

“From those exploring the area to our familiar faces, all are welcome.

“Whether you’re looking for somewhere to have a catch up with friends & family or are looking for a pre or post-show drink, we can’t wait to welcome you.”

The Robin Hood and Lion

The Robin Hood and Little John, based on Lion Road, was named the Bexley Pub of the Year in the CAMRA awards.

The pub opened in 1851 and is known for serving real ales and imported lager.

A spokesperson for The Robin Hood & Little John said in August: “Dating from the 1850’s, when it sat amidst fields and farms, The Robin Hood & Little John is a delightful little back street traditional pub.

“The pub has been run by the Johnson family (Ray, Caterina and son Tony) Since the 1980’s.

“In that time it has won CAMRA London Pub of the year on three occasions, plus CAMRA local Pub of the year on ten occasions.

“We offer seven well kept real ales, two guest ones plus five different lagers.
