Free dementia clinics will be opening across Birmingham in the new year, offering a safe space to ask questions about the life changing condition. Dementia UK is hosting the face to face clinics to discuss everything you need to know about the illness, from how dementia progresses to help with financial and legal issues.
The clinics will pop up around January at Nationwide branches across Birmingham High Street, Coventry, Bromsgrove, Hinckley, King’s Heath and Sutton Coldfield. Appointments can be booked online where visitors can speak to ‘Admiral Nurses’ specialising in dementia.
Previously the dementia charity has shared tips on how to discuss dementia with a loved one and encourage them to visit their GP when presenting signs or symptoms of the condition. According to the charity, someone develops dementia every three minutes in the UK, and it is often challenging to get an accurate diagnosis of dementia.
