Gang jailed for nearly 40 years total after flooding Staffordshire with heroin and cocaine

A drug gang have been locked up for their part in a conspiracy to supply heroin, cocaine and cannabis from Merseyside into Staffordshire. Twelve men, from the two areas, were sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on January 7.

Sean Boyle, Daniel Herrity, Owen Doherty and John Roberts, all from Liverpool, sourced large amounts of drugs before they were transported to Staffordshire between August 2019 and January 2020. Smaller quantities were then sold in local areas by Daniel Tew, Aaron, Dawkins, Jordan Smith and Simon Rushton.

Police made a number of arrests after raiding properties across Staffordshire and Liverpool in January 2020. DC Colin Jones of Staffordshire Police said: “This has been an exhaustive investigation which has resulted in almost 40 years of prison sentences so far.

“This is a true testament to years of hard work and dedication by officers. Conducting hundreds of hours of detective work, we were able to build this case and bring each and every offender operating in this conspiracy to justice – despite their efforts to evade police.”

Drug gang jailed

Sean Boyle, 33, of Karonga Road, Liverpool, and Daniel Herrity, 33, of Delagoa Road, Liverpool, were jailed for seven-and-a half-years. They pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – heroin – and conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – cocaine.

Owen Doherty, 33, of Ripon Street, Liverpool, was sentenced to six-years-and-seven-months’ imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – heroin – and conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – cocaine.

John Roberts, 34, of Fieldton Road, Liverpool, was sentenced to five-and-a-half-years’ imprisonment after he was found guilty of conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – heroin – and conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – cocaine.

Daniel Tew, 40, of Seaford Street, Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent was jailed for five-years-and-three-months after he pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – heroin – and conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – cocaine – and conspiring to supply a controlled drug of Class-B – cannabis resin.

Aaron Dawkins, 34, of Sparrow Terrace, Newcastle-under-Lyme, was jailed for 30 months after he was found guilty of conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – heroin – and conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – cocaine.

Jordan Smith, 29, Pepper Street, Silverdale, Newcastle-under-Lyme, was sentenced to 21 months’ imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – heroin – and conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – cocaine. He was also found guilty of possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place and conspiring to supply a controlled drug of Class-B – cannabis resin.

Simon Rushton, 39, Tillett Green, Meir, Stoke-on-Trent, was jailed for 23 months after he pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – heroin – and conspiring to supply a Class-A controlled drug – cocaine.

Ryan Baxter, 26, of Montgomery Court, Newcastle-under-Lyme, was sentenced to eight months imprisonment suspended for 18 months, a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement, and 120 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply a Class-B drug – cannabis – and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

Joshua Rorbach-Pointon, 32, Beech Grove, Newcastle-under-Lyme, was sentenced to a 12-month community order, a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement, and 100 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply a controlled drug of Class-B – cannabis resin.

Daniel Ludden, 31, of Douglas Road, Newcastle, under-Lyme, was sentenced to a 12-month community order, a nine-month drug rehabilitation requirement, 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and 75 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply a controlled drug of Class-B – cannabis resin.

William Muncey, 25, of Austin Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, was sentenced to a 12-month community order, a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and 50 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply a controlled drug of Class-B – cannabis resin.
