Graham Norton confirms replacement for his talk show – and it's another BBC star

Graham Norton has revealed that he’ll be taking a break from hosting his self-titled chat show next month. The BBC star made the announcement during Friday’s (10 January) episode of The Graham Norton Show.

Graham, 61, is heading to Australia in February ahead of his Australian live tour. The chat show host will be visiting Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne throughout March, as he takes his live show, An Evening with Graham Norton, over to Oz for the very first time. The show sees Graham share fun stories and career highlights with the audience, before taking part in a Q&A session.

While he’s in Australia, a fellow BBC star will be filling in for him on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, 28 February. He’s revealed that The Traitors presenter Claudia Winkleman will be taking on the guest presenting role. After Graham thanked Claudia for agreeing to cover for him, she jokingly quipped: “I apologise in advance!”

The BBC star was one of the guests on Graham’s chat show on 10 January, alongside Myles Smith, Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson and Billy Porter. During her appearance on the BBC show, Claudia opened up about the latest series of The Traitors, which began airing on 1 January.

“I am always very nervous that people aren’t watching and then incredibly grateful that they are. I feel about Traitors like people feel about an offspring – you’re so glad when people love it. I can’t say much but the producers are so clever and there are lots of twists and turns coming,” she admitted to Graham.

Claudia’s fashion has proven to be a huge talking point on The Traitors, with the presenter nailing winter dressing. She’s revealed that there was some Royal inspiration behind her quirky looks for the third series.

She told Graham: “We always like to have a muse – for Strictly it has been Anita Dobson and this year it was Demis Roussos. For Traitors it’s Princess Anne meets Sarah Brightman. We’ve already decided on next year’s – I’ll be dressing as Gerald from Clarkson’s Farm!”

The Traitors made its debut on BBC One back in 2022, proving to be an instant hit with TV fans. The second series was even bigger success, leading to an even better third series, which is currently airing on the broadcaster’s flagship channel.

The Graham Norton Show airs on BBC One on Friday 10th January 10.40pm. Also available on BBC iPlayer.
