Harrow vehicle fire live update as road shut for 8 hours and 12 bus routes diverted

A busy road has been shut for eight hours after a vehicle went up in flames overnight. A404 Watford Road in Harrow has been shut northbound since 1am this morning (Thursday, January 9).

Drivers are currently facing long delays following the incident near Northwick Park Roundabout, with congestion northbound stretching back to Wembley and southbound queues to Wealdstone. The closure has also affected traffic towards Kenton and Harrow town centre.

In the early hours of this morning Transport for London (TfL) confirmed 12 bus routes have been diverted, including 114, 182, 183, 186, 223, 483, H9, H10, H14, H18, SL10, and N18.

The latest update from traffic monitoring site INRIX reads: “A404 Watford Road Northbound closed, long delays due to vehicle fire at A409 / Kenton Road (Northwick Park Roundabout). Congestion to North Wembley northbound, back into Wealdstone southbound, back through Kenton westbound, and back into Harrow town centre eastbound. On the roundabout.”
