A big name high street giant has announced plans to open at Huddersfield’s Kingsgate Shopping Centre.
After a start to 2025 which has seen a number of closures in Huddersfield town centre we have details of a new opening. Plans are ongoing to launch a new Boots store at Kingsgate.
Those who have recently visited the shopping centre will have likely seen hoardings for the new Boots in a vacant unit. A Boots spokesperson said: “We are delighted to confirm that we plan to open a new Boots store in Kingsgate Shopping Centre mid 2026.
“This will replace the King Street store that is set to close.” Earlier this week, we brought you news of a closure at Kingsgate.
The Medicare Health Check Centre shut over the festive season. A notice reads: “Thank you for all your support. We have helped over 7,000 people know their numbers and helped prevent strokes and heart disease.”
In recent days we’ve seen some major closures in Huddersfield town centre. The Slug and Lettuce bar and restaurant has shut as has the BrewDog bar.
Elsewhere, we have reported KFC, in New Street, will close later this month. As always, we’ll keep you posted of openings and closures in Huddersfield.
