Holmfirth bar with £2,000 weekly takings in ‘vibrant’ street sold and set for ‘rebrand’

A town centre bar with takings of around £2,000 a week has been sold and is set for a rebrand.

Cask in Huddersfield Road, Holmfirth – next door to O’Briens – had been listed up for sale by Ernest Wilson business agents and has since sold.

Describing Cask as ‘covetable’ thanks to Holmfirth tourism and its location, Ernest Wilson said: “As part of the town’s vibrant bar and restaurant scene, we were able to secure a sale for our clients quite easily. A weekly turnover of £2,000, buoyed by tourist footfall, made this business very covetable.”

Cask is now expected to be rebranded and refurbished. In a recent post on social media, Cask said: “Thanks so much to all of our lovely guests for supporting us this December. We’ll be closed for a few weeks now whilst we refurb and rebrand. We’ll be back soon with a new look and a new name!”

Earlier this year, a little-known Holmfirth pub crawl challenge emerged, with 18 venues to try.

The bar-hopping challenge takes in cool new bars as well as traditional favourites. The bar crawl starts at The Postcard Inn and ends at O’Briens Bottle Shop and Beer Cafe in Huddersfield Road.
