Linda Whitehead

Linda Whitehead

Linda Whitehead, of Great Harwood, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on January 3, aged 84 years.

A devoted and cherished mum to Shelley and Adam, and a beloved grandma to Hadley, Aiden, Fyske, Lui, and Kaycey.

Family was the heart of Linda’s world. She was the most doting mum and grandma, dedicating her life to raising her children and making her home the true hub of family life.

Linda’s support knew no bounds—she was her children and grandchildren’s greatest champion, always there with love, wisdom, and encouragement.

Her creativity shone through in the incredible fancy dress costumes she crafted over the years, becoming the go-to person for any special occasion.

Her home was a haven for everyone, where all were warmly welcomed.

Linda became a surrogate grandma to many, known for her generous hospitality and legendary potato pie.

Visitors never left hungry, thanks to her endless supply of “collapsible butties” and hearty meals.

Linda was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her loss will send ripples far and wide. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and countless cherished memories.

Instead of flowers we ask you to consider making a donation to support a bursary fund we the family have established in memory of an incredible woman, Linda Whitehead, who gave everything she could to those around her.

As she did for many, this bursary fund for will be for local clubs to support someone achieve a certification or learn a new skill/qualification.

Linda spent many an hour, even days, poolside supporting her children and grandchildren, as well as cheering on pitch side too, always looking to add a string to their bow she supported them on any adventure.

Her love was felt far and wide usually by others adopting her grandma status. In her loving memory any donations made is appreciated. Thank you, “The Whiteheads”

Please send donations to the funeral directors or they can be placed in the donation box at Church on the funeral day.
