Staying warm at home in the winter can be a challenge. I always prefer to put on another layer rather than turn up the heating as it’s more environmentally friendly and saves a little bit of money, but there are only so many jumpers you can wear before you have to accept defeat and turn it up.
However, since buying my Oodie a few years ago, I rarely need the heating on except on the chilliest of days. I have this purple tie-dye one that was £65 but is down to £29. I bought it in a bundle that also included a weighted blanket, which was originally £119 but down to £79.
The Oodie is super roomy – as a size 14, there’s tonnes of room to spare. The Oodie website describes it as a 6XL. It also comes with a massive pocket and is lined with Sherpa fleece, with fleece on the outside, too. It’s machine washable, but I’ll warn you that it takes an absolute age to dry due to the thick layers!
I find it perfect for snuggling up on the sofa in the evening or working from home. The only downside is sometimes the fabric can be a bit overwhelming – for example I have to take it off in the kitchen or the sleeves will knock things over around me.
Oodie has loads of different designs available
The Oodie gets tonnes of good reviews. One shopper wrote: “I love my Oodie, the downside is I have to take it off sometimes!” Another shopper wrote: “Absolutely love my Oodie, it’s my go to for snuggling and sleeping when it’s cold. Super adorable.” A third said: “It’s like a warm, cosy hug.”
If you prefer, there are lots of other hooded blankets on the market. One from Kudd.ly is originally £89 but is now £29. Marks and Spencer also has a very cuddly-looking one for £35. Wowcher has a family set, which starts at 8.99. Buy the Oodie here.
