Fans of Dancing on Ice are eagerly awaiting the premiere of the new series, set to air tonight (January 12) on ITV1.
A fresh group of celebrities will be taking to the ice alongside their professional partners, under the guidance of seasoned pros Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
The previous series saw Coronation Street icon Ryan Thomas glide his way to victory, overcoming fierce competition in the final. As we approach the new series, fans may be curious about what has happened to the star since his win.

In May 2024, Ryan attended the nuptials of his best friend and founder of fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing, Umar Kamani, held in the French Riviera. The ex-soap actor served as best man for the spectacular three-day event, sharing on Instagram: “To Mr and Mrs Kamani, you brought a fairytale to life this week.”
“A memory we will all remember forever. It’s been an honour and privilege for us to be your best men. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
Numerous A-list stars were present, including Naomi Campbell and special musical guest Mariah Carey, with whom Ryan managed to snap a selfie along with the other groomsmen, reports the Mirror.
Heartbreaking loss
In August, Ryan announced the death of his uncle Baz on Instagram, sharing the tragic news with his followers. Alongside a video clip, Ryan said: “Uncle Baz! A born entertainer, you touched us all with your music. Speaking with him only three days ago.”
“You forget about your own problems when you see other people suffering around you.”
The TV star was inundated with supportive messages and one of the first replies came from Umar who penned: “We will miss you Uncle Baz.”

During his presenting career so far, Ryan has had the chance to work alongside some popular TV faces.
One of these collaborations came when Ryan jetted off to Italy and filmed a travel video on Lake Como, which also featured Alison Hammond and Josie Gibson.
A fun snippet of their trip was shared online, showing the pair sipping champagne and speeding across the water.
A few months later, Ryan filmed another segment for This Morning, this time he reported live from Madame Tussauds in Blackpool, where he caught up with a familiar face – Alison Hammond’s waxwork.
