ITV Emmerdale family floored by missing April Windsor update as more danger ‘sealed’

Monday’s episode of Emmerdale brought a fresh update on the missing April Windsor.

Recently, April, portrayed by Amelia Flanagan, disappeared over Christmas, leaving her father Marlon Dingle, played by Mark Charnock, in despair.

Prior to her disappearance, April was seen waiting for an unidentified person. A car soon arrived and without uttering a word, April climbed into the back seat and was driven away.

Since then, there have been no sightings and minimal updates, apart from the unearthing of her secret social media account under a pseudonym, where she was pictured intoxicated at a party, and the recent discovery of her purse at a hospital.

However, Monday’s episode brought a significant development. Marlon woke from a terrifying dream in which April was dead, leaving him deeply unsettled, reports Leeds Live.

Later, he was horrified to overhear Mary, Suzy and Gail discussing the possibility of April being deceased, given her three-week absence.

Marlon lashed out at the pubgoers, accusing them of giving up on April and assuming her death. Later, a distraught Marlon conceded that April might indeed be dead, breaking down in tears with Rhona.

After his emotional outburst, the pub community rallied around Marlon. Rhona then received a message from their police liaison officer.

The episode concluded with Anna showing the family CCTV footage of April in Leeds City Centre from earlier that day. Upon viewing the footage, Marlon exclaimed: “It’s her, it’s April, she’s alive! She’s alive, we’re going to find her!” Yet, the CCTV showed April running, leaving viewers worried for her safety and questioning who she might be fleeing from.

In portraying this hard-hitting plotline, the ITV soap has sought the insight of charity Missing People to ensure a genuine portrayal throughout the narrative.
