ITV Masked Singer’s Bush identity speculation finally addressed by Natalie Cassidy

Natalie Cassidy, famous for her role in EastEnders, has addressed rumours linking her to “Bush” on The Masked Singer. On her Off The Telly podcast alongside co-host Joanna Page, Natalie teased listeners by expressing doubt over her participation with: “Can you imagine me doing that?”

Firmly denying the speculation, Natalie asserted: “I am not Bush,” despite Joanna’s playful probing. She argued the impracticality of fitting the show’s schedule with their frequent meet-ups for recording the BBC Sounds podcast, saying: “We have worked together for a whole year,” she said. “When would I have squeezed that in?”

Joanna humorously maintained her suspicions, confessing she’d be scrutinising the show for further hints about the enigmatic Bush. Natalie downplayed the significance of The Masked Singer in her household, declaring it isn’t popular among her family, hence there isn’t much debate over who is behind the costumes.

In stark contrast, Joanna revealed her family are avid viewers, firmly believing that Natalie could eventually be unmasked, even though the supposed voice of “Bush” appears deeper than Natalie’s own, reports the Mirror.

The majority of The Masked Singer fans are convinced despite Natalie’s denial that she is a clandestine contestant on the show. Other potential masked celebrities like Scarlett Moffatt, Kerry Godliman, and Katherine Parkinson have been mooted too.

One fan with a particularly vivid imagination suggested on Reddit that Bush might actually be the comedian Morgana Robinson in disguise, “pretending to be Natalie Cassidy.”

Odds from the betting world indicate Natalie stands at a likelihood of 66.7%, or 1/2 odds, of being uncovered as Bush, while Morgana Robinson trails at 10/1, holding a 9.1% chance.

So far, three celebrities have met their end in this year’s The Masked Singer. Notably, Grammy-winner Macy Gray, who wagged tongues with her less-than-graceful exit following the latest elimination, was the recent departure.

She didn’t hide her chagrin after being ousted, despite having achieved finalist status in the US in 2023. Post-revelation, the American singer offered terse responses to the panel’s inquiries subsequent to shedding her Toad in the Hole guise.

A source divulged to The Sun that Gray might have harbored hopes of progressing further in the British version of the contest, given her successful stint in the States. “This has never happened on The Masked Singer before.”

they revealed, adding, “When Macy stormed off stage everyone was frozen in shock but as soon as she reached backstage, crew removed her mask so they could talk her down.”

According to the insider: “Macy was almost shellshocked to start with and was basically gutted to be out so early because she really enjoyed being on the American version – when obviously she did brilliantly – so was totally blindsided.”

The commotion didn’t stop there. An ITV source revealed to The Mirror that the American singer declined to participate in the post-show interview, a tradition for celebrities after their departure from the show.
