Bradley Walsh was genuinely astonished on The Chase as a contestant carved out a historic moment on the ITV quiz show. Despite not winning any cash, the host lavished praise on the player for their remarkable effort, exclaiming, “how proud” his family must be.
George from Tonbridge, Willis from Liverpool, Margaret from St Neots, and Aaban from Rotherham joined forces, aiming to bag a hefty cash prize. They clashed with Chaser Shaun Wallace, hoping to flaunt their quiz smarts.
Sadly, three teammates were quickly caught, skipping the final chase and missing their chance at the loot – leaving 19 year old Aaban to fight on his own.

In a bold move, lone contestant Aaban chose to take a daring £100,000 offer. Impressively, he conquered the individual head-to-head round, securing himself a place in the final chase single-handedly.
However, the ultimate challenge overwhelmed him; Aaban could only muster seven right responses. With The Chaser just needing eight correct answers to claim victory, he reached it with ease in less than 60 seconds, as noted by the Express, reports the Mirror.
Empty-handed Aaban was met with nothing but respect from Bradley, who told him: “You’re 19, you’re on your own and you just beat a MasterMind champion. Your family will be dead proud of you.”
Commending Aaban as well, Shaun remarked: “You’re still a winner. To make TV history as the youngest player to get to the final with that type of money, you should be proud.”
Despite not winning, Aaban remained upbeat and expressed his satisfaction by saying: “I’m really proud. I didn’t think I’d get this far so to come here and make it to the final with £100,000. I don’t mind not winning. This is enough.”
Show host Brad comforted him further, reassuring him: “It’s not your fault. You are 19 and there were so many questions outside your age remit.”
Reflecting on his team’s exit, he added encouragingly: “You needed a full house, but you’re going to go on to do great things.”
However, fans of the daytime quiz show were left disgruntled recently when a celebrity was awarded a questionable correct answer. In a celebrity Christmas special, Bradley asked Pointless star Alexander Armstrong a question and his answer contributed to the massive £116,000 win for charity.
The question was: “What name is given to a pointed hand tool used for making holes in the ground for seeds or young plants?
A: Dibble, B: Nibble, or C: Quibble”, Alexander chose option A, which was deemed correct. However some viewers objected to the win. Yet, some viewers disputed the win, arguing that the actual name of the tool is a “dibber”. According to Gardeners’ World, a dibber is “an ideal tool for gardening,” defining it as a long pointed stick for poking uniform holes in the soil.
