Fans were spotted going to extremely lengths to get their hands on the newest Jellycat toys recently.
The soft toys, which have been around for 25 years, are incredibly soft and huggable saw a surge in popularity last year as fans fast became collectors. The plushies are pretty expensive due to their high quallity and limited availability. Now, there are even Jellycat cafes in London, Paris, New York and Shanghai.
Because of the high demand, whenever a new collection comes out, fans rush to get their hands on them. And recently crowds of people burst through the doors at Harrods department store in London to pick up the new and exclusive teapot and teacup plushies. Harrods are stocking Vicky the teapot, Seb the teacup and Cheryl the cake – which comes in its very own cake box.

Video clips shared on TikTok earlier this week showed people queuing outside the doors for 45 minutes. Once the store opened, Harrods staff members trying to tame the crowds of people pushing through the doors and running to be the first in a long line of Jellycat fans who spent hours queuing.
“Fully grown adults running for some toys at 9 o’clock in the morning is crazy,” one individual said.
One fan, Shivani Khosla, said: “People have been literally queuing for hours for the new Harrods’ exclusive Jellycats.” “There were so many I really thought it would go out of stock.”
She bought the Cheryl cake which set her back £45. The Vicky teapot will set you back £32.95 while the Seb teacup will set you back £19.95.
Another fan, known as Saashi London on TikTok, said: “Displays look insane. Cheryl is just divine with her little cherries and cute smile. Isn’t Vicky teapot the cutest? And don’t even get me started on the Seb teacup.”
She added: “The lovely Harrod’s green men were handing out chocolates in the queue. It was such a lovely experience. Quick get to Harrods before stocks run out.”
Commenting, one individual said: “The creator of Jellycat is absolutely p****ing themselves all the way to the bank! They’ve literally put a face on a load of inanimate objects and turned them into a soft toy! Madness.”
“I don’t get it sorry,” said another. “This is insane,” added one other.
