After announcing to her followers that she was free from cancer at the end of last year, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, has gradually resumed her Royal responsibilities. This included a visit to Royal Marsden London to meet patients currently grappling with their own cancer diagnoses.
This week Kate joined Prince William as Joint Patrons of the specialist cancer care centre at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, where Kate received treatment following her own cancer diagnosis.
For this occasion, Kate donned an elegant burgundy midi skirt and matching high neck jumper, with the colour carrying a special hidden significance. While burgundy has been a popular colour in recent seasons, it is also believed to symbolise good luck, warmth, comfort, and strength, making it an ideal choice for Kate’s sensitive hospital visit.

This marked Kate’s first solo Royal engagement since her cancer diagnosis, making it a significant moment for the Princess of Wales. Kate has also been known to wear various shades of red for other important events, including introducing Prince Louis, honouring Princess Diana, and launching her Shaping Us campaign.
In typical Kate fashion, the outfit was a repeat, having been worn previously during a visit to Cornwall in 2023. On both occasions, Kate donned the Edeline Lee Plait Skirt, still available for purchase at £595, and paired it with Kiltane’s Women’s Cashmere Polo Neck Jumper in Bordeaux shade, now discounted from £129 to £60, although her exact burgundy shade is limited in sizes, reports the Mirror.
