It’s a rainy night in Manchester city centre – but that hasn’t stopped some New Year’s revellers making the most of the occasion.
As people begin to line St Peter’s Square for the city’s celebratory fireworks display, a group of lads have taken it upon themselves to entertain the masses with an impromptu drum n bass set.
Footage shows a DJ carting his speakers and equipment around in a trolley as he plays drum n bass for those waiting to enjoy.
The man behind the cart is Luke, 32. He told the Manchester Evening News he’s originally from Kent but stays in Manchester. He said he is a big music fan and usually plays at home.
He said: “It’s New Year’s Eve so I thought I’d come out here and play some music. It can lift spirits and cheer people up so I’m going to be out here for hours.

“It’s not for everyone but honestly most people either have a bit of a jig or they ignore it.”
It comes as flood alerts are in place across the region this evening due to the wet weather. A yellow weather warning for rain is also in place from the Met Office.
Numerous New Year’s events across the UK have been cancelled due to the wind and rain, but Manchester City Council have insisted Manchester’s will go ahead as planned at 10pm.
Around 20,000 people are expected at the huge family friendly fireworks display this year, which is being held in St Peter’s Square for the first time.
Starting at 10pm and running untill 12:30am, there will be a live stage show, with radio presenter and DJ Joe McGrath hosting proceedings and leading the countdown to midnight.
