Latest Lancashire weather forecast reveals big change towards the end of the weekend

The weather is set to undergo a major change towards the end of the weekend, forecasters have predicted.

The recent cold snap, which has seen temperatures plummet as low as -5C in Lancashire, with many communities waking to a blanket of snow over the last week.

The Met Office has predicted that, on Sunday afternoon, temperatures in Central Lancashire could peak at 5C while overnight on Sunday into Monday the mercury is expected to stay as high as 3C.

From 12 noon on Monday Lancashire is likely to see some rain with temperatures rising to 8C. Tuesday could see a couple of extra degrees celsius added with cloud dominating the skies.

The forecast predicts some sunshine on Thursday and Friday alongside extended dry periods with the odd showery spell.

Cloudy this evening with patchy rain and sleet. Clear spells developing later with perhaps a few fog patches in places. Not as cold as recently but still frosty for some. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Sunday

A cold and in places frosty start with a few fog patches. Often cloudy through the morning with sunny spells developing more widely by the afternoon. Feeling a bit milder. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday

Windier on Monday with spells of rain, possibly heavy across Cumbria. Breezy on Tuesday and Wednesday with rain or drizzle at times, but lengthy dry periods too. Turning much milder.
