Liam Payne’s former partner, actress Kate Cassidy, has made a return to social media by sharing a symbol deeply significant to both her and the late singer. The 25-year-old was left heartbroken when Liam, best known for his time with pop band One Direction, tragically passed away at 31 following a fall from his hotel balcony in South America on 16 October after a night of heavy alcohol and drug use.
Breaking her social media silence, Kate posted a photo on Instagram wearing beige tracksuit bottoms adorned with ‘444’, a number the pair had revered as their “angel number”, a concept rooted in Ancient Greek beliefs about the mystical significance of numbers. Kate shared the image with the caption: “Ali found me these sweatpants yesterday.”
She further emphasised the spiritual connection by adding another snap of the trousers with the heartfelt words: “Love, support, guidance from your angels.” The ‘444’ sequence is thought to represent protection and encouragement.

This comes after Kate had previously revealed a note from Liam showcasing his fascination with angel numbers and the idea of “manifesting” one’s fate. The update follows the announcement of Liam’s cause of death being “polytrauma”, indicating he sustained multiple injuries.
With five people now charged in relation to his untimely death, Liam’s family is hopeful for justice. A close source to the family of the late artist opened up to The Sun, saying: “It’s been a very difficult Christmas for them but they now just want justice for their son. Finally, after a horrific couple of months, there is a feeling like this could be possible.”
Liam’s manager, alongside the boss of the Casa Sur Hotel and the head of reception, have been charged with negligent homicide – an offence that could lock them away for up to five years if they are found guilty.
