Former Little Mix member Jesy Nelson has announced she is pregnant with twins. Nelson shared a photo of herself and her partner, musician Zion Foster, to Instagram with the caption ‘She’s eating for 3 now’. The pair have been together since 2022.
The 33-year-old left Little Mix back in 2020, citing mental health reasons. Little Mix was formed with Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, and Jade Thirwall during the eighth season of X Factor in 2011. The group went on to win the show.
Nelson left the group due to the impact it was having on her mental health. Back in 2021, during an interview with Cosmopolitan, Nelson said she suffered a panic attack and “broke down” on the set of shooting a music video “because I didn’t look how I wanted to look and I found it so hard to just be happy and enjoy myself”.
She had ended up not being in one of the video’s scenes because she had been “sobbing in the dressing room”.
She said: “I looked at the other three and they were having the time of their life. I get so jealous, because I want to feel like that and enjoy it, because music is my passion. To have this dream and not be enjoying it because of what I look like, I knew wasn’t normal.”
In the BBC Three documentary ‘Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out’, the singer documented her struggle with body image and online trolls throughout her time in the public eye.
Little Mix announced in 2021 they would be taking a break after their 2022 tour, but reassured fans the break was not permanent.
“It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects,” the group said at the time.
Thousands have left comments under Nelson’s post to share their congratulations. Former Love Island host Laura Whitmore wrote, “Massive congrats! The best thing in the world xx”.
Capital breakfast host Sian Welby commented it was “the best news!” Britain’s Got Talent judge, Amanda Holden, also commented, writing: “CONGRATULATIONS DARLING”.
