Littler comes through last leg thriller to set up quarter-final vs Aspinall

LUKE LITTLER set up a quarter-final clash with Nathan Aspinall at the world championships following a thrilling 4-3 win over Ryan Joyce at Ally Pally.

The teenage sensation, 17, took the opening set before Joyce levelled with a brilliant 116 checkout.

Littler had a match dart in the sixth set but could not take it as Joyce sent the match to a decider.

Yet it was still the Warrington wonderkid who prevailed to clinch a thrilling victory.

Awaiting him in the last eight is a clash with friend Aspinall – who dispatched Ricardo Pietreczko in the afternoon session.

Littler or Aspinall will face the winner of Peter Wright vs Stephen Bunting in the semi-finals.
