Major roads in Wales shut or disrupted today

Driving conditions across large parts of Wales are expected to be poor throughout most of Saturday, especially later in the afternoon and into the evening, so it’s essential that motorists are aware of road closures across the country.

As of Saturday morning, there were no major issues affecting the M4 in south Wales, or the A470 or A48. However, there is one lane closed on each side of the Prince of Wales Bridge, an A-road in Rhondda Cynon Taf continues to be shut due to long-term roadworks, and Andrew Road in Penarth was closed early on Saturday after two vehicle fires but has since re-opened.

Meanwhile, Traffic Wales has asked people to “please take extra care if you’re travelling this weekend, as there are weather warnings for snow and ice”. You can read much more about those warnings here. For the latest Welsh news delivered to your inbox sign up to our newsletter.
