A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving following an incident where a woman and her dog were trapped under a car. Jackie Davies and her dog were injured after a car came off the road into the garden of a house in Rowan Way, Malpas, Newport, in the early hours of Monday January 13.
The 63-year-old from Newport is in a stable condition after being taken to hospital from the scene. Gwent Police officers attended the scene along with personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service, Welsh Air Ambulance and the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
Providing an update into their investigations, a spokeswoman for Gwent Police said: “A 40-year-old man from Newport has been arrested on suspicion multiple offences including causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop following a road traffic collision.
