A man has tragically died after being hit by a car in Wigan. Officers were called out to Pembroke Road, in Marsh Green, at 5.58am on Thursday (January 9).
Tragically, the pedestrian – a man in his 30s – died at the scene despite the best efforts of emergency services. A woman in her 20s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
She has since been bailed pending further enquiries, Greater Manchester Police confirmed this morning (January 10). Pembroke Road, off Kitt Green Road, was closed for a number of hours on Thursday following the collision. Enquiries are ongoing and witnesses are being urged to come forward.
A GMP spokesperson added: “Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage, from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.”
