Man left with fractured jaw after being attacked by group at bus station

A man was left with a fractured jaw after being set upon and attacked by a group at Wigan bus station. The assault, reported on October 6 last year, is thought to have happened shortly before 5.30pm.

Greater Manchester Police said it is thought several men approached the victim and assaulted him. He suffered a broken jaw in the incident.

An appeal has now been issued by the force, along with an image of a person officers want to speak to, who they believe could assist with ongoing enquiries.

A force spokesperson said: “On Sunday 6 October 2024, we were made aware of reports of a suspected assault, believed to have taken place shortly before 5:30pm.

“It’s believed that several males approached the victim in Wigan bus station, and assaulted him, leaving him with a fractured jaw.

“Police are following several lines of enquiry and are now appealing to the public for further information. Police would like to speak to the man pictured, as it’s believed he could assist with the investigation.

“Whilst we know these pictures are low quality, we hope that someone may be able to recognise him and come forward.”
