London’s best primary schools have been named. MyLondon’s interactive map below shows the 42 schools where every single pupil achieved at least the expected standard.
There are many ways to define a good school, from pupils’ happiness to the quality of the facilities, but one way is to measure the proportion of students meeting the expected or required standard based on progress scores in reading, writing, and maths.
At Key Stage 2 (KS2), scores range from 80 to 120, with any student scoring 100 or above having met or exceeded the expected standard. Currently, across all primary schools in England, 61 per cent meet the expected standards in reading, writing, and maths combined, an increase from 60 per cent in 2023 and 59 per cent at the end of 2022.
Approximately one in 12 children – or 8 per cent – achieve a higher standard, the same proportion as in 2023 and up from 7 per cent in 2022. However, some schools report significantly better results.

The most recent figures show that at least nine out of 10 pupils met expected standards in nearly 300 English schools last year. This includes 41 top-performing schools where every single pupil achieved expected progress. Every region of England boasts at least one school where all pupils achieved expected standards, but the East Midlands leads the pack with 14 such schools.
This includes The Minster School in Nottinghamshire, where not only did every pupil meet the expected standards, but a whopping 57 per cent of children surpassed them – the highest proportion of any school in England.
