Temperatures are set to plunge across Devon again tomorrow, Wednesday, January 8. Some areas of the county will be hit by “feels like temperatures” of -4C as the county braces for snow.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow across large parts of Devon from 9am until 11.59pm. The Exeter-based forecaster said the freezing weather could lead to travel disruption. Below we have Wednesday forecasts for Torbay, Exeter, Barnstaple, Okehampton, Honiton and Plymouth.
The local outlook shows flurries of snowfall arriving in Okehampton at 1pm. The rest of the county can expect heavy rain at the same time.
There will then be further snow and sleet in Exeter at 2pm. The flurries will become heavier in Okehampton at 3pm as the mercury drops.
The snow will then continue throughout the afternoon. The Met Office expects it to feel like -4C in Okehampton from 6pm and Honiton from 7pm.

The Met Office said: “Whilst not all areas may be affected, outbreaks of snow may push in from the southwest during Wednesday, potentially giving some significant accumulations in places. 2-5 cm of snow could accumulate fairly widely, and as much as 10cm over higher ground, especially over east or northeast-facing slopes. Rain or sleet is more likely near coasts.
“Note that there is still a possibility that the weather system, and associated rain or snow, may remain further south across the English Channel. As precipitation clears eastwards and skies clear during Wednesday night, ice is likely to form on untreated surfaces.”
