Offering further detail into the conditions people can expect, the Met Office said: “Scattered wintry showers on Thursday evening will slowly fade overnight, leading to the risk of icy patches on untreated surfaces as temperatures fall below freezing. Isolated snow accumulations of two to four cm will be possible, more especially in Wales on hills above 150m elevation.”
People should be cautious of some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths and beware of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces. The advice, issued to keep yourself and your family safe when it is icy, is to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal. Not needing to rush reduces your risk of accidents, slips and falls.
