A yellow weather warning has been issued for Wales. The Met Office has put the warning for fog in place from 8pm Wednesday night until 11am on Thursday.
The weather service says that the fog will result in difficult driving conditions, and that you should expect slower journey times “with delays to bus and train services possible”. It adds that the conditions also create a chance of delays or cancellations to flights.
It explains how areas of fog will continue to develop through Wednesday evening and overnight and, in places, will be dense with visibility below 100 metres. The Welsh regions expected to be affected are Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Monmouthshire, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Torfaen and Vale of Glamorgan. It advises: “Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, leaving extra journey time, or amending plans if necessary. Make sure you know how to switch on your fog lights, and check they are working before setting off on your journey.

“Bus and train services, as well as flights and ferry travel may also be affected; check for updates from your travel company and follow their advice.”
A weather forecast for tomorrow reads: “A cold start with a frost and patchy freezing fog in places. Thereafter a dry day with some sunshine for many. Feeling mild in any afternoon sunshine with light winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.”
