Michael McIntyre has revealed the touching reason behind an “unmissable” moment on his Big Show.

The popular variety series will debut its eighth season this evening (January 18) at 6:50 p.m. on BBC One.

Viewers can expect an emotional rollercoaster as World Darts Champion Luke Littler joins the show to fulfil a dream for one special audience member.

“It’s so wonderful that the Big Show can give special people a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Michael remarked about the upcoming episodes.

In a heartwarming gesture by the show, enormous darts fan Gary, who lost his son to cancer and has since been heavily involved in charity work in his memory, will receive a surprise that promises to be unforgettable.

“There is also an unmissable surprise on huge darts fan Gary, whose son died recently of cancer. He has dedicated himself to fundraising in his son’s name, but his family wanted him to have a special night, and that we did,” shared Michael.

“He thought he was going to watch the World Matchplay in Blackpool but ended up playing with Luke Littler in front of thousands of people – and he played amazingly!” reports the Mirror.

Additionally, the host has hinted at an “inspirational” Unexpected Star segment. The segment will give unsuspecting individuals a chance to shine in the spotlight.

Among them is Peter, a man who has shown extraordinary dedication by singing daily to his wife as she receives end-of-life care.

“He’s a truly wonderful man and character and so deserving of the special moment he had performing on our stage,” said Michael, highlighting the poignancy of what viewers could expect from tonight’s show.

The new series is set to entertain with a “hilarious” segment called Remember Me, where celebrities are confronted with someone from their past and must figure out how they know them. Holly Willoughby, Miranda Hart, and Alan Carr are among those who participated.

Judi Love, Michael Sheen, and Tony Bellew will hand over their phones for the much-loved Send to All challenge, while Josh Widdicombe, Sam Thompson, and Zara McDermott will be featured in the Midnight Gameshow.

Additionally, Wheel on Wheels makes a comeback, with Michael and his team hitting the streets of Birmingham to find viewers tuning into the gameshow live.
