Molly-Mae admits she ‘begged’ Tommy Fury not to drink as she breaks down in tears

Molly-Mae Hague’s new documentary, Behind It All, has unveiled intimate details about her relationship with 25-year-old-boxer Tommy Fury.

The reality star, also 25, opened up about the difficulties of being with a partner who drinks, stemming from her teenage trauma. In an emotional confession, she said: “I never ever wanted to be with someone that drank because my mum had a period of time in her life where she struggled because her marriage of 25 years had just ended and she turned to drink more than she should have.”

Recalling her youth, she shared: “I was only about 14 or 15 when that happened and I saw my mum in some states”.

Molly-Mae admitted her ex-fiance “never had an alcohol problem”, but that “It’s just that alcohol caused problems for us.”

“It got to a point where I wasn’t looking forward to anything because alcohol affected it so much,” she began.

“At my sister’s wedding I pleaded with Tommy- I begged him – to not drink. It’s just really sad. It’s so sad. It affected me,” she admitted to the documentary cameras as she broke down in tears.

This comes as Tommy admitted in a Men’s Health interview about the real reason for their split, admitting he ‘couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be’.

“I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. Cheating was never a thing. You can ask Molly this yourself. It was the drink, and the drink is not a good thing,” he said.

Previously, Molly-Mae hinted that her forthcoming documentary would “answer a lot of questions” regarding her recent split from Tommy, with whom she shares daughter Bambi.

The couple first crossed paths in 2019 during the fifth series of the popular dating show, Love Island. However, they announced their split in August 2024, sparking rumours that Fury had cheated on Hague, allegations he later denied.

At the premiere of her new Amazon Prime documentary, Molly-Mae: Behind It All, Hague was candid about the end of her relationship with Tommy, describing it as a difficult period. She said: “It is real life. Tommy and I have a baby together, and it’s a really hard thing that we have both gone through.”

Following a reported reconciliation and a New Year’s Eve kiss, suggesting a possible reunion, the pair were also accused of staging their break-up to coincide with the launch of Hague’s clothing line, Maebe, and Fury’s book, Lightning Can Strike Twice: My Life as a Fury.

The unfolding story is now being documented in the series, which followed the influencer for five months.

The first three episodes of Molly-Mae: Behind It All are currently available exclusively on Prime Video, with the remaining three set to be released in Spring 2025.
