Molly-Mae Hague has revealed she had a ‘big argument’ with ex-fiancé Tommy Fury just moments before he popped the question.
The 25-year-old exes met on ITV’s hit reality show Love Island in 2019, and welcomed their daughter Bambi in January 2023, before getting engaged in July of that same year.
While the proposal announcement video gained a whopping 45 million views on Instagram, the social media influencer has shared that she was ‘sad’ on that day.
In her new tell-all documentary Molly-Mae: Behind It All, she revisited the footage from the big day and promptly asked her production team: “Do you guys know the story about the fact that we had a big argument before this?”

“He’d been acting shady, obviously, and we had taken some photos on Tommy’s phone, of him and I at the hotel. And I was like ‘Can I have a look at the photos on your phone?’ and he wouldn’t let me go on his phone. Obviously, [I start] thinking: ‘Why won’t you let me on your phone?'” she elaborated.
Following the spat, the mum-of-one confessed that she feared Tommy had ‘pictures of another woman’ on his phone, stating: “Up until literally the point of pulling up in the car, I fully thought I was going to a dinner.
“I was that oblivious and I was literally looking out of the [car] window like I was in a sad music video, thinking that he literally had some pictures of another woman on his phone or something. That was what was going through my mind, on my way to my engagement. It’s pretty funny really.”

Reflecting on the day, the former Love Islander concluded: “I don’t know just, it was really perfect.” However, she also said that “things were getting a bit tricky” for the couple during that period.
Just over a year later, the pair shocked fans with news of their break-up. While the duo initially kept a lid on the reason behind the split, Tommy recently told Men’s Health that he “had a problem with alcohol” and “couldn’t be the partner that [he] wanted to be anymore.”
Molly-Mae also cited Tommy’s drinking habits as the cause of their separation, in her docu-series.
Launched on January 17, the six-part show delves into the TV personality’s life as a business owner and mother to 23-month-old Bambi.
Molly-Mae: Behind It All episodes 1 to 3 are available to watch now on Prime Video. The latter three episodes will drop in Spring 2025.
