Molly-Mae says New Year’s Eve kiss with Tommy Fury ‘complicated’ as documentary explores break-up

Molly-Mae Hague has addressed her recent reunion with ex fiancé Tommy Fury, admitting that the relationship is ‘complicated.’

The couple’s romance bloomed in the public eye when they met on Love Island in 2019. The 25-year-old stars have since had a daughter, named Bambi, and were gearing up for marriage before they split up in August 2024. However, the two reportedly reconciled last year at a New Year’s Eve party, where they were pictured sharing a kiss.

Now, the mum-of-one has set the record straight, confessing that navigating their relationship in front of millions has been difficult. Speaking at the launch of her forthcoming tell-all documentary Molly-Mae: Behind It All, she said: “We are navigating a really complicated time in both of our lives, in the public eye, and I think this is a whole new territory for me.

“Obviously my relationship has always been in the public eye, but to deal with this break-up with millions of eyes watching, it is hard, and it is complicated.

“And I think the reason why I don’t comment on it, and why I don’t speak about it on my YouTube, or publicly is because simply, we are both navigating it ourselves, and we both are figuring it out as adults and as parents, we’re doing the best we can.

“But I really do feel like the documentary is going to answer a lot of questions, and we also do touch on that situation, because I think the last thing I want is any confusion, and I don’t ever want people to feel confused by what’s going on, so we will try to explain.”

Molly-Mae’s upcoming series, premiering on Amazon Prime this Friday, delves into the last six months of her life. According to the entrepreneur, viewers will gain insight into how she runs her new fashion brand Maebe, alongside raising her daughter.

While the former Love Islander hinted that the six-part docu-series will clear up any ‘confusion’ about the break-up, which spectators believed was due to Tommy cheating, her ex has spoken out about his part in the separation.

In an interview published by Men’s Health on the same day as Molly-Mae’s documentary launch, the boxer revealed that they broke up because he ‘had a problem with alcohol.’

“All I’ve been seeing for the past six months is ‘Cheater!’, ‘He slept with me!’, ‘He slept with this girl, he slept with that girl!’ Complete and utter b****cks. We broke up because I had a problem with alcohol and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. It kills me to say it, but I couldn’t. I loved a pint of beer, loved to drink,” he confessed.

Molly-Mae: Behind It All episodes 1-3 launch exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on January 17. The latter three episodes will drop in Spring 2025.
