Molly-Mae says she was ‘sad’ on day she got engaged to Tommy Fury after huge argument

Molly-Mae Hague has shared that just before Tommy Fury proposed, they had a ‘big argument.’ The Love Island stars, who met on the show in 2019, introduced their daughter Bambi to the world in January 2023 and became engaged later in July.

Despite the engagement video reaching a staggering 45 million views on Instagram, Hague revealed she felt ‘sad’ on the day.

In her new documentary, Molly-Mae: Behind It All, she disclosed to her production team: “Do you guys know the story about the fact that we had a big argument before this?”

“He’d been acting shady, obviously, and we had taken some photos on Tommy’s phone, of him and I at the hotel. And I was like ‘Can I have a look at the photos on your phone? ‘ and he wouldn’t let me go on his phone. Obviously, [I start] thinking: ‘Why won’t you let me on your phone?'”

Hague admitted she thought Tommy might have ‘pictures of another woman’ on his phone, reports Lancs Live. Recounting her fears, she remarked: “Up until literally the point of pulling up in the car, I fully thought I was going to a dinner.”

“I was that oblivious and I was literally looking out of the [car] window like I was in a sad music video, thinking that he literally had some pictures of another woman on his phone or something. That was what was going through my mind, on my way to my engagement. It’s pretty funny really.”

Reflecting on her special day, the ex-Love Island contestant shared: “I don’t know just, it was really perfect.” She also admitted that during that time, “things were getting a bit tricky” for her and her partner.

The couple surprised their followers with news of their split just over a year later. Tommy opened up to Men’s Health about his struggles, revealing that he “had a problem with alcohol” and felt he “couldn’t be the partner that [he] wanted to be anymore.”

Molly-Mae attributed their breakup to Tommy’s drinking in the documentary series. The six-part show, which premiered on January 17, offers an insight into her life as both a businesswoman and mother to her 23-month-old child, Bambi.

Molly-Mae: Behind It All episodes 1 to 3 are available to watch now exclusively on Prime Video. The latter three episodes will drop in Spring 2025.
