Moment Wizz Air passengers erupt into row when one asks the other to stop filming herself

A passenger was left stunned at a woman’s reason for asking her to stop filming herself on a Wizz Air flight.

Paris Johnson was flying back to London from a holiday in Hungary when she awoke 15 minutes before landing and used her video camera to check her hair.

However the 18-year-old claims the woman in the aisle next to her asked her to stop recording as she feared people would recognise her voice. In the viral TikTok, which has more than 28million views, the woman can be heard saying she does not want to be in the video and asks Paris to stop recording.

When Paris tells the woman that she is not in the video, she can be heard saying that she is sitting next to her and that she does not want people to know she is there. Although the holidaying teenager thought the woman was joking at first, she soon realised she was serious as she was not smiling.

Paris refuses to stop recording and points out that there is an aisle separating them so the woman is not featured in the footage. But the fellow passenger does not let-up in her demands, forcing Paris to be heard asking to move seats – but the plane was already readying to land.

The college graduate said that she did not recognise the woman and that she was acting ‘normal’ before the incident. Lots of commenters attempted to guess who the individual could be, naming singers and reality stars, while others pointed out the irony that her voice was not in the footage until she started the row.

Paris, who lives in Liverpool, Merseyside, said: “Everything was going fine, the passengers were quite normal. I remember falling asleep with my hoodie backwards and I took my phone to check my hair, 15 minutes before landing. She said, can you stop recording me? I thought she was joking.

“She looked quite young, so I thought she was joking. Her face was quite serious so I realised she’s not joking. She was claiming to be famous but I didn’t recognise her and a lot of people haven’t recognised her either. She thought people would recognise her from her voice but people are still confused.

“I asked one of the flight attendants to move me because it was getting serious now but I think they forgot about me because we were about to land. I’m just happy I recorded because it is funny now looking back, someone having an ego boost like this.”

Commenters on Paris’ video shared last month have been speculating about who the woman could be, but Paris said they have not revealed her. Other questioned if the video was real or staged, however Paris said that she did not know the woman at all.

Paris said: “I did not recognise her at all. Lots of people said it was a skit, a lot of people have assumed it was some other famous people and tagged them. She was claiming she was famous but I didn’t recognise her and a lot of people haven’t recognised her either. It was random how people were tagging other famous people thinking that it’s them but it was honestly none of those people.”

One commenter said: “Now I’m wondering who that was. And I’m probably sure I don’t know her.” Another said: “This lady wasn’t even in the video. Her voice wasn’t even in the video until SHE decided to be in and make her presence known…” One commenter said: “No one knew she was there until she mentioned it!”

Some commended Paris for ‘standing up for herself’ while others said they understood the mystery woman’s complaint as they would not like to be seen in other people’s videos. One said: “I get the other person’s point, I’m not famous but maybe I just don’t feel like being seen in people’s videos.” Wizz Air were contacted for comment.
