Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong stunned fans after being spotted enjoying some of Liverpool’s famous landmarks. The singer, known for hits such as American Idiot, and Wake Me Up When September Ends, was seen at the world-famous Cavern Club on Tuesday (January 7).
In a post on Instagram, the Cavern Club shared a photo of Billie Joe posing with a pint in front of the red telephone box, accompanied by the caption: “When rock legends come to visit. Billie Joe Armstrong at The Cavern Club.” The Green Day singer was also seen enjoying and filming a live cover of his very own song Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).
It seems the 52-year-old was on a whistle stop Beatles tour, as he was later spotted at the Strawberry Field site on Beaconsfield Road. In a post on social media, Strawberry Field posted a photo of Billie Joe next to staff chef, Anna, alongside the caption: “We were delighted to welcome Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day to Strawberry Field yesterday. Here he is with our chef Anna in our Imagine More café!”
