Netflix One Piece season 2 in huge casting update with three new stars | Lancs Live

Following the success of the fantasy adventure series One Piece on Netflix, there’s been a significant casting update for the eagerly awaited second season.

The show has welcomed three new cast members: Rigo Sanchez from Outerbanks, Redemption actor Yonda Thomas and James Hiroyuki Liao from Barry.

These newcomers will join returning cast members Inaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, Taz Skylar, Ilia Isorelys Paulino, Jeff Ward and Michael Dorman.

Other new stars previously announced to be joining the show include Charithra Chandan, Joe Manganiello, Katey Sagal, Lera Abova, and Mark Harelik, among others.

The fantasy series is a live-action adaptation of the manga series of the same name by Eiichrio Oda, who serves as a creative consultant on the show.

The plot follows the adventures of the Straw Hat pirates as they hunt for the ‘One Piece’, a legendary treasure that could elevate their captain to the status of ‘King of the Pirates’.

The show has garnered an outstanding response, boasting an 8.0 IMDb rating based on 167,000 votes. Additionally, it holds a Tomatometer rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 95% Popcornmeter rating.

Since its release, fans have showered the show with praise. One enthusiastic viewer noted: “The show clearly took its material seriously and got so many things right, it left manga and anime fans impressed.”

Another fan commended the show, stating: “If you’re up for a bit of innocent escapism, picaresque plotlines, arresting visual spectacle, superbly choreographed fight scenes, colourful characters and head-scratching strangeness, then I cannot recommend it enough.”
