New technology at hospital will see patients receive test results faster

A hospital has installed brand new technology which will see patents receive blood test results faster.

South West London Pathology (SWLP) has recently installed new analysers at Croydon hospital, in the first step of a rollout of new blood sciences services at all SWLP sites.

SWLP is an NHS partnership that works across five hospital sites including St George’s in Tooting, Croydon Health Services, Kingston Hospital, Epsom Hospital, and St Helier University Hospital.

Once installed across all sites, the new technology will perform more than 30,000 daily tests, allowing faster test result turnaround times and improved patient outcomes.

Simon Brewer, SWLP managing director, said: “The successful introduction of the analysers at Croydon Hospital marks our first step towards an exciting new future for our clinical blood science services.

“As we continue to introduce new analysers across our network, we will be able to push the boundaries of diagnostic services in this area.”
