NS&I Premium Bonds full prize list for January with rate change from today

The prize fund rate for Premium Bonds has dropped for a second time in a matter of months. The prize fund rate now stands at four percent, down from 4.15 percent in the December draw.

The rate previously dropped for the December draw, falling from the previous 4.4 percent. This implies that there will be fewer prizes available in the monthly prize draw, with a smaller total prize pot.

The odds of each £1 Bond winning have increased to 22,000 to one. NS&I data reveals that there were 5.85 million prizes in the January draw, compared to 5.76 million in the December draw.

The total winnings fell from £441,743,525 to £429,090,875. The number of prizes and total winnings in each monthly draw can fluctuate and may increase or decrease compared to the previous month.

This is the full list of the number of prizes in the January draw, and how the figures compare to the December draw:

  • £100,000 – 82 (down from 84)
  • £50,000 – 163 (down from 169)
  • £25,000 – 328 (down from 338)
  • £10,000 – 818 (down from 844)
  • £5,000 – 1,636 (down from 1,687)
  • £1,000 – 17,163 (down from 17,669)

Despite the change, there will still be two £1million jackpot prizes in each draw. NS&I has urged customers to check if they have any unclaimed prizes, as millions of pounds worth of prizes remain unclaimed.

The provider highlighted the uncollected cash in the areas of Liverpool and Gloucestershire, as the two £1million jackpot winners for January hailed from these areas. In Liverpool, a total of 8,974 prizes remain unclaimed, totalling £325,025. The largest unclaimed prize is worth £5,000, from the May 2023 draw.

Many more prizes stand have yet to be collected by Gloucestershire, with 22,409 prizes unclaimed, together worth £775,125. The largest unclaimed prize in the south west county is a £5,000 amount from the April 2019 draw.
