Paul Danan ’cause of death confirmed’ after neighbours heard ‘loud bang’

Former Hollyoaks star and reality TV personality Paul Danan has tragically died following an incident where he ‘slipped and fell’ in a luxury apartment near Bristol, it has been reported. Neighbours disclosed that emergency services were summoned to the affluent residence in southwest England last Wednesday evening, reports Birmingham Live.

With a tone of gravity, Mail Online today (Saturday January 18) shed light on the unfortunate details, stating that the Channel 4 celebrity had ‘slipped and fell’. Independent Creative PR released a poignant statement at the time: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of at just 46 years old.”

The tribute continued: “Known for his television presence, exceptional talent and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many.” Acknowledging the profound impact of his loss, it added: “His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him. During this difficult time, we kindly request respect and privacy for Paul’s family, friends, and colleagues. No further comments will be made at this time.”

Best remembered for his role as Sol Patrick in the teen soap Hollyoaks from 1997 to 2001, Danan also grabbed headlines as a housemate on Celebrity Love Island’s first season and later on Celebrity Big Brother. In a harrowing revelation back in June 2024, Danan shared a grim brush with death when excessive vaping led to respiratory failure; he was resuscitated and spent a week fighting for life in intensive care.

“I was dead – it’s a miracle I’m here,” he had expressed, underscoring the fragility of life. “I’m upstairs puffing away on my vape then suddenly I lost my breath and collapsed.

“My family called for an ambulance and started giving me CPR, then police arrived and took over before paramedics took me to hospital. I was on a machine in ICU and ended up with pneumonia. My family were warned I might not make it through the night.”

He was expected at Warrington Magistrates Court that morning when his death was announced, facing charges of driving a vehicle while unfit through drugs and possession of cocaine, where he was set to enter a plea.
