A person has been cut free from a vehicle after a crash left traffic queuing in Bristol city centre this evening. The A4032 was closed near Cabot Circus, with delays building up to the M32, after three vehicles collided at around 4pm today (Wednesday, January 15).
One person was left trapped inside their vehicle by the collision and had to be rescued by Avon Fire and Rescue Service. Avon and Somerset Police has said that traffic is being diverted off the M32 at junction 3 while the vehicles are recovered.
Long delays continued on the road. Traffic monitor Inrix reports: “Slow traffic due to earlier accident on A4032 Newfoundland Circus Southbound from M32 J3 (St Pauls) to Cabot Circus. Congestion to M32 J1 (Hambrook).” It adds that there are around 30 minute delays on the M32.
Officers are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dashcam footage of what happened. A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Police were called just after 4pm on Wednesday 15 January to the collision involving three vehicles, with one person trapped in a car.
“The person has been freed by the fire and rescue service and is now being assessed by ambulance crew. Inbound traffic is being diverted off the M32 at junction 3 pending recovery of the vehicles.
“If you saw what happened or have any dashcam or other footage which could help, please call 101 and give the reference 5225012304.”
