Police cordon off road after man seriously injured

Police have cordoned off a Greater Manchester street after a man was left seriously injured tonight (Sunday, December 29). Officers were called to a reported robbery in Chorlton at around 8pm.

The incident was first reported at around 8pm. The man has been taken to hospital.

Police say no arrests have been made at this stage. A cordon remains in place and anyone with information is being urged to contact police.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Officers are currently responding to a reported robbery on Nicholas Road, Chorlton, where a man has suffered serious injuries. He has been taken to hospital by our Ambulance Service colleagues.

“Those in the local area will see a large emergency service presence, which could continue for some time as we work to establish the full circumstances of what has happened.

“Officers are also speaking to those out and about, and we would encourage any witnesses or anyone who may have information about what has occurred to come forward to us. You can also speak to those on the ground if you have any concerns. No arrests have been made as yet.”
