Police are re-appealing for information after a cyclist died in a crash in Birmingham. The victim, named locally as Donnell, was struck by a silver-coloured BMW – which left the scene – on Brandwood Park Road, in Kings Heath, around 9.25pm, on Friday (January 3).
The 25-year-old, who is said to have had a three-year-old son, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital in a serious condition. His loved ones said he passed away three days later on Monday (January 6).
West Midlands Police said a 30-year-old man was arrested and has since been bailed while our enquiries continue. They are now appealing to anyone with information, particularly dash cam footage, to get in touch with them, quoting log 4855 of January 3.

A crowdfunder has now been set up to cover Donnell’s funeral costs, with an £8,000 target. Posting on the GoFundMe page, pal Chloe Finlay posted: “I have made this GoFundMe for my friend who recently lost her brother.
“Sadly, on the January 6, 2025, we tragically lost our Dee. The happiest and kindest man who is loved so much by all. After being hit off his bicycle on his way home from work on January 3 evening, he fought so hard but suffered terrible injuries, resulting in his passing.
