Popular shoe store chain closing shop in seaside town

A popular local shoe shop chain is closing its very first store in a seaside town. Hal Holmes-Pierce opened his first Elevate Your Sole store in Prestatyn in 2013.

It proved a real success and this saw him later expand to bigger premises and also open a second shop, in Rhos on Sea. In 2019, the brand took on the well-known Simon Baker store in Llandudno.

But the chain has announced that its Prestatyn store is to shut. It has a closing-down sale on now until the final day on January 25.

Hal has confirmed this does not affect the stores in Rhos on Sea and Llandudno, which are both staying open. He also revealed a fresh venture, with a new Rieker store in Chester.

The news was met with disappointment by customers.

Deborah Done said in a post online: “Sad news for Prestatyn. Good luck in your new venture.”

Allyson Evans added: “So sorry to see you go, I wish you all the very best for what happens next.”

Hal said: “Thank you for all your support, it was a really difficult decision to make. We’ll still be in Rhos and Llandudno as well as continuing online. I have got a new upcoming venture in Chester too, opening up a new Rieker shop.”

He added: “Pop in before our closing date on January 25– whether it’s to grab a bargain, reminisce, or just say hi.”
