Princess Anne has managed to regain a prestigious title, as she was once again named the hardest-working royal of 2024, despite having to take a temporary break from her duties due to an unfortunate injury last year.
The mother-of-two earned the title after carrying out an impressive 395 engagements in the UK in 2024, alongside 79 abroad – topping Anne’s 2023 total by 17.
Now, an expert has revealed one ritual she observed Anne performing, which proves the Princess Royal has earned her credentials. During the latest episode of Hello! Magazine’s A Right Royal Podcast, Emily Nash, Andrea Caamano, and The Telegraph’s royal editor Hannah Furness discussed Anne’s achievements.
The trio explained the secret to Anne’s success is that she will often carry out several engagements in a day, and despite “popping in and out” of public appearances on her helicopter due to time constraints, “she is remarkably switched on”, has “done all the reading and is thoroughly committed”.

Andrea then reflected on her own memory of Princess Anne’s hard-working nature, when she spotted the Royal reading notes to properly prepare herself for an event.
She recalled: “I actually did see Princess Anne once, on the street, and she was on her official cart and she was reading notes ahead of going to an event, so there we go, hard-working.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen in 2025, but I’m just going to say – she’ll top it again,” Andrea predicted.
King Charles followed his sister, Anne, in second place on the hardest-working Royals chart after performing 329 engagements in the UK and 43 abroad, all while undergoing cancer treatment.
Prince Edward, 60, landed third place with 293 engagements, just ahead of his wife, the Duchess of Edinburgh, 59, who carried out 257 duties.
The Duke of Gloucester, 80, a first cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II, gained fifth place behind Sophie with 216 engagements.
Meanwhile, Charles’s wife Queen Camilla took on 182 engagements in 2024, followed by the monarch’s eldest son, Prince William, 42, who carried out 166.
