Remove stubborn oven glass stains in 10 minutes with no fuss using one product

If you’ve found your oven’s glass door splattered like an abstract artwork after Christmas festivities and it still needs a clean, now’s the time to tackle it.

Tom Jackson, cleaner and founder of Carpet Cleaners MCR, advises that for the best oven glass results, a professional oven-cleaning solution should be used. But for those without access to such products, Tom recommends The Pink Stuff as an excellent alternative, describing it as “great for cutting through the grime”.

This cleaner isn’t just for home use; even cleaning professionals are fans of The Pink Stuff, with its reputation for obliterating unsightly marks. On their website, the creators of The Pink Stuff champion its “natural formulation”, claiming it delivers “high performance” without resorting to harsh chemicals, reports the Express.

Yet when faced with grease, you’ll require something more potent. Tom suggests reaching for a reliable silver scourer for stubborn, burnt-on gunk that gentler cleaning won’t banish.

Don your rubber gloves, slather on the paste, and work it in firmly. Tom recommends giving it a quarter-hour max for optimal effect, adding: “It can be tempting, but don’t rub it off too soon. Let it work its magic.”

Once you’ve given the mixture ample time to act, scrub away with a scourer and water. And for those particularly pesky patches, use a sharp scraper to strip away the filth. Once you’ve wiped off the cleaning product with a damp cloth and warm water, gently use a scourer for any stubborn marks to avoid surface scratches.

For those who prefer environmentally friendly methods, Toby Schulz, CEO and co-founder of Maid2Match, recommends a gentler alternative. “Try and see if you can use a silicone or plastic scraper to remove any stuck-on grime from the oven glass,” he said.

“Lay some newspapers on the floor underneath to collect the debris for easier cleaning.”

In tackling “very stubborn stains and dirt”, Toby proposes making a paste from baking soda and water. Spread this mixture with a soft sponge onto troublesome spots, leaving it to work its magic for up to 20 minutes.

After waiting, homeowners should go back over the spot with a scraper to peel away the loosened dirt. For an intensified effect, spray some white vinegar on the area for “additional cleaning power”.
