A well known Anglesey hotel on an historic route has had a major price cut. The Valley Hotel, in Valley, near Holyhead, dates back to the 1800s.
It is lies on the historic A5 Holyhead to London route. Anglesey Inns have owned and operated the hotel for 30 years, having acquired the site from Burtonwood Brewery back in 1993.
In 2023 the company shareholders announced they were seeking a “reputable buyer” for the business to bring new investment and to take it to an even higher level. It had a £1.25m price tag and was on with specialist business property adviser Christie & Co. It was then cut to offers over £995K.
It has now had its price reduced again to £795,000.
Paul Snape, Director of Anglesey Inns Limited, said: “We understand that the hospitality market is tough, however this is a genuine retirement sale, after many years of hard work and dedication. The time is ripe now for new owners to bring new skills, energy and enthusiasm to the party.”
Tom O’Malley, Associate Director – Hotels at Christie & Co who is handling the sales process, comments, “At the reduced asking price, The Valley represents a unique and fantastic opportunity to take a business with a decent reputation and level of turnover, and to really maximise its true worth.”
