Sam Thompson admitted to experiencing fear following his split from Zara McDermott.
Before the breakup of their five-year relationship, the former Made in Chelsea personality had recently referred to Zara, 28, as his soulmate. But the pair split up over the Christmas period, with Zara reportedly leaving the home they once shared, next door to Sam’s sister, Louise.
While speaking on the Staying Relevant podcast with best friend and The Only Way is Essex star Pete Wicks, Sam spoke about the challenging times he’s faced since their separation. This followed speculation that the 32-year-old celebrated Christmas by himself.

Sam commented: “It was tough, and with Pete not answering his f****** phone. The only thing I’m going to say because of other parties and such is that it’s been a tough month, a real tough month.”
The former champion of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! expressed discomfort with the intense scrutiny, particularly with the paparazzi. It led him to claim he had “never felt so scared in my life”.

Pete joked about how Sam’s Christmas was far from solitary, given that he kept company with photographers camped outside his dwelling, reports Lancs Live. Sam elaborated: “I went and did charity on Christmas Day. I was alone so I went ‘you know what’.”
On Christmas Day, Sam was seen distributing gifts for the Camila Batmanghelidjh Foundation, which aids at-risk children and their families. Meanwhile, Zara sparked suspicion of her move from their joint home yesterday.
In her latest ‘Day In The Life’ vlog, Zara was spotted starting her day in a different home from the one she previously shared with Sam. The couple, known for their joint appearances on-screen, had become familiar to fans who recognised their home.
The vlog captured Zara’s morning routine as she prepared for a day of filming in London. A viewer commented: “House does not look like theirs. Someone is bound to say it so yes I said it, I hope they are both ok honestly”.
Meanwhile, an insider disclosed to MailOnline that the pair have called it quits, stating: “Sam and Zara have ended their relationship. It’s been an incredibly difficult decision for them to part ways, they still care and have a lot of love for each other.”
